It takes a TEAM to produce a T-shirt Quilt

As a Quilt Maker, I am just one teammate on your T-shirt Quilt TEAM.

Creating a T-shirt Quilt is like a relay runner passing the baton to the next runner. Can you tell I ran track in High School?

And there is no finished T-shirt Quilt until the baton passes over the finish line!

Here are the teammates on your T-shirt Quilt team!

1 – Your student-athlete participates in youth sports, club sports, high school sports and maybe college sports earning clothing and tees along the way.

2 – The sports parent is very active in this first step. You drove your child to and from practice and games, and while all the sports activity was happening, you had the foresight to save the tees.

3 – The search begins for someone to stitch all your child’s sports memories together. This is where you pass the baton (clothing) to your T-shirt Quilt Maker. Your quilt-maker does the supply shopping, cutting, stitching, fusing interfacing to t-shirt backs, sewing, laying out and designing the quilt top for you.  But most of all, she preserves and puts together all the memories from the clothing in a T-shirt Quilt for your student-athlete!

4 – Crossing the finish line – it’s time to celebrate!!  Your child receives the gift of a finished Memory Quilt! This patchwork of tees is more valuable than you can put into words. It holds all the memories for the giver and the receiver. It triggers an "instant replay" in your head while looking at each individual t-shirt square. It’s unique, personal and tells their sports story!  It’s a true celebration of your child's sports life!

So you see, I'm just one person on your relay TEAM in creating your T-shirt Quilt for your student-athlete.

I know someday soon you will be ready to pass the baton to a T-shirt Quilt Maker and I plan to be there to take the baton from you to stitch your memories together for you and your student-athlete!

Have a good one,

Julie
